Dr. Krizler C. Tanalgo is the student plenary speaker in MacroFest 2022, to be held on July 4-6, 2022 at the University of Sheffield, UK. The British Ecological Society (BES) Macro is an annual meeting highlighting macro-scale research in macroecology and macroevolution. The meeting includes a student plenary, selected from submitted abstracts in a double-blind review process performed by a Macro Special Interest Group (SIG) Committee.

According to the official BES Macroecology (and macroevolution) SIG Twitter account, this year’s selection was very competitive. Dr. Tanalgo’s work focuses bat protection, including simple and scalable methods for the identification of priorities for cave conservation. The runners-up in the competition were Keith Lyons of the National University of Ireland – Galway, Caroline McKeon of Trinity College Dublin, and Joel Shutt Woon of the University of Liverpool.
