USM is represented by Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, and Dr. Mary Joy S. Cañolas, Director of the Extension Services Office. They join delegates from other Asian member colleges and universities in this five-day Convention and General Assembly held on July 4 to 8, 2022. The theme for this year’s conference is Revolutionizing Agricultural Innovations Towards Social Sustainability. Conference activities include plenary presentations, posters and exhibits, roundtable discussions, knowledge sharing, and oral presentations. A special anniversary program highlights lessons from the past and forges new directions for the future.

According to the AAACU website, the organization was formed on May 1, 1972 during the Second Agricultural College and University Seminar at Pines Hotel in Bagiuo City. AAACU is associated with member colleges and universities from 12 countries. The University of Southern Mindanao is one of 14 Philippine member institutions of the AAACU.
