The University of Southern Mindanao-Kidapawan City Campus (USM-KCC) quivered with pride and honor today as it successfully concluded this yearโs Reserved Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Graduation Ceremony at the USM-KCC Covered Court. The pulsating event marked a significant milestone for the 627 ROTC cadets who completed their training under the National Service Training Program (NSTP).
The ceremony was graced by notable figures including Col. Rolly C. Valeria PA (RET) Commandant, MSg Marlon G. Morales PA (RET) Sergeant Major of the 1201st Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn), and NSTP Director Dr. Jeanne Y. Aure, along with other respected members of the training directorate.
Within an atmosphere of celebration and achievement, outstanding ROTC cadets and officers were recognized for their exceptional diligence and excellence. Medals were awarded to those who demonstrated remarkable performance and contribution to the ROTC program and the welfare of their peers.
One of the ceremonyโs highlights was the traditional passing of command. CDT LTC Ryan F. Fajarillo 1CL ROTC passed down the USM-KCC ROTC Unit Commandant title to CDT MAJ Judy Ann L. Abing 2CL ROTC. This symbolic gesture signifies continuity and the passing of leadership responsibilities to the next generation of cadet leaders.
The ceremony also featured the reading of the enlistment order, the oath of office, and the reading of the reservist creed, all led by the USM-KCC ROTC training directorates. These rituals testify to the cadetsโ commitment to service and their readiness to contribute to national defense and community welfare.
Dr. Jeanne Y. Aure, NSTP Director and also the Keynote speaker, delivered an inspiring address, urging the graduates to embody the core values they have learned. “I encourage each of you to apply the lessons you have acquired throughout your time in the ROTC program. Keep in mind the significance of integrity in your actions, the bravery to advocate for righteousness, and the dedication to continuously pursue excellence,” she emphasized.
This yearโs ROTC program has been particularly fruitful, with cadets engaging in various military and non-military activities designed to enhance their capabilities for civil welfare.
The programโs success lies in its ability to nurture intelligence, skills, discipline, and morale among the youth, encouraging them to partake in community service and nation-building efforts.
