The University of Southern Mindanao Extension Services Office (USM ESO) recorded the first episode of “TekTalk” on December 21, 2022 at the USM ESO building. Short for “TeknoGiya Talk” or “Technology Talk” in English, TekTalk is a talk show program inspired by TEDx wherein the word “Tek” comes from TeknoGiya (Technology Guide in English), the USM ESO Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials brand. This program consists of a series of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations, and performances on a wide range of subjects focusing solely on technologies.

ESO’s first TekTalk featured “Agricultural Innovations in the University of Southern Mindanao Towards Social Sustainability” with USM Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan as resource person.

Dr. Cabasan highlighted the different USM-generated technologies from research disseminated and utilized by the farmers. USM, as a research University, believes that the only true measure of a research university’s impact is how well its research findings promote positive impact in the community. The first TekTalk episode will be aired on December 29, 2022, via the USM RTV YouTube channel.
