Dr. Jacinta T. Pueyo turned over the key of responsibility as the campus director of the University of Southern Mindanao – PALMA Campuses (Libungan, Aleosan, and Alamada) to Dr. Ardniel A. Baladjay on April 22, 2024, at USM Libungan Campus, Libungan, Cotabato.

During the ceremony, Dr. Pueyo reminisced on how the campuses started. She highlighted the strong support she received from the local and provincial governments, the leadership of USM, and her colleagues. She also shared a short story that tackles life lessons and stresses that if we all like to attract miracles, we need to do our part. As a reflection, she said that it is not our responsibility to save the world, but if we attend to our responsibilities, we contribute to saving the world.

“You will see me unencumbered by the mantle of authority, but we shall continue in the next few months, wrapped in golden friendship as we journey [until] the semester ends. Forever, I will sing my love and loyalty to USM because she has afforded me glorious memories of a wonderful journey.” She concluded.

Further, in his acceptance speech, Dr. Baladjay thanked the attendees for the warm welcome and said: “Rest assured, I will work with passion, commitment, dedication, and mindful of our purpose and to live up to it.”

“Now that the key of responsibility has been passed to me, I end this message by challenging us with this acronym TEAM, meaning Together Everybody Achieves More,” he added.

Dr. Pueyo served as the campus head of USM PALMA for five years. On the other hand, Dr. Baladjay served as Dean of the College of Agriculture in the USM Main Campus before he was appointed the campus head of USM PALMA.

USM President Francisco Gil N. Garcia, the OIC- Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Prof. Marcos F. Monderin, and the USM PALMA faculty members, staff, and students attended the activity.
