Frannie Shane V. Pineda, a 4th year Bachelor of Science in Microbiology student of the University of Southern Mindanao, presented her paper at Food Microbiology Academy and was awarded Excellence in Science Communication via zoom teleconference on June 07, 2025.
Food Microbiology Academy is an independent institute dedicated to advancing and sharing knowledge in food microbiology, with a strong focus on food safety and food quality.
Recently, Pineda, with her study titled: “Food Safety Awareness and Practices among the food Handlers and Consumers in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat”, also won first place during the USM College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Student Research Expo in social science category and earned second place during the 10th USM Student In-House Review.
The online presentation was part of the celebration on World Food Safety Day celebration.
