The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Hospital earned recognition after winning Second Runner Up in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Video Contest of the Department of Health (DOH) Region XII during the Hospital Summit and Cascading of Health Facility Development Bureau Manuals and Learning Modules on July 23, 2026, at Habi Hotel in Koronadal City.
The award recognized the hospital’s commitment to improving the quality of its services through practical innovations that make healthcare more accessible, responsive, and patient-centered.
In its entry, the USM Hospital featured the initiatives it has introduced to improve client experience and hospital operations. These included the QR Code Information System, Digital Health Advisories, Smart Feedback System, and the Ask Me Staff Assistance Program. The video also highlighted the hospital’s high client satisfaction rate and testimonials from patients and clients who benefited from its services.
Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is a framework that guides health facilities in consistently improving the quality of their services. It strengthens work processes, reduces inefficient practices, and encourages continuous innovation to provide better healthcare. As one of the Department of Health’s key strategies, CQI supports the development of health facilities in advancing Universal Health Care.
