The SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) launched the first leg of Project Formulations on Effective and Excellent Diet Systems (FEEDS) on June 26, 2026, at Katagpo Hall, P&A Integrated Farm, Purok 5, Alamada, Cotabato.
Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, Consortium Director, led the initiative and served as a Resource Person along with Mr. Janryl L. Ibardalosa from the BFAR XII Provincial Fishery Office of Cotabato, Prof. Pia Amabelle M. Flores, and Prof. Ryan Z. Gonzaga, both from the University of Southern Mindanao.
Also present were Dr. Mark Al-Jamie J. Muttulani, Deputy Consortium Director, Dr. Geselle C. Facto, Municipal Veterinarian, Ms. Maria Eden B. Barredo, Focal Person, Alamada Organic Agriculture Program and Coordinator, Alamada Livestock Program, Mr. Angelo Jame I. Buenafe, Barangay Pacao Agricultural Technician, Ms. Beverly C. Sumangil-Raradangan, Agricultural Technician, Ms. Mary Joy G. Antiporda, Agricultural Technician, Dado, Mr. Alfie Jay P. Belbar, Animal Health Personnel, Engr. Paul Vincent B. Balongkit, ABE, Engr. Francis Erwin E. Teofilo, ABE, and Mr. Dennel John M. Valladolid.
A total of 72 participants were equipped with knowledge on standard feed formulations based on the results of scientific research and studies conducted by experts in the fields of animal and fish nutrition. The participants are composed of livestock and aquaculture farmers from the municipalities of Alamada, Matalam, M’lang, President Roxas, Libungan, Midsayap, and Kabacan, representatives from Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA), including J&A Highlands, Lenkoy Farm, Española Integrated Farm, Deo’s Farm and Organics at Alcor Farm.
One of the highlights of the event is the launch of the FEEDPRIME Application, a digital system designed to guide farmers and fisherfolk in making accurate feed formulations. BFAR XII turned over a pelletizing machine for feeds and chest freezer to be used by Barangay Pacao farmers.
This initiative is under the banner program, Capability-Building and Governance, led by SOXAARRDEC as we advance the skills of the farmers, fisherfolk, and entrepreneurs in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
