Turnover ceremony for the Vice President for Research, Development and Extension

Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan and Dr. Geoffray R. Atok are the new Vice Presidents of USM. Cabasan, former Director for Research and Development Office will serve as VP for Research, Development and Extension for one year effective today replacing Dr. Edward Barlaan who will be retiring from government service next month. Meanwhile, Atok, former President of Faculty Association, Inc. has been designated Vice President for Academic Affairs since January 24, 2022 following the retirement of Dr. Consuelo Tagaro.
Both VPs went through series of interview and were evaluated by the committee based on their credentials.
In her speech during the turn-over ceremony, Dr. Cabasan assures the USM community that her office will continue the RDE initiatives of the University. Moreover, since targets have been set, RDE will always improve and innovate. On the other hand, in an interview with Dr. Atok, he encourages all students to give their best and all faculty members to work hard and harder for USM and for the glory of God.
