USM Employees Gather for Fun Run, Launch Gulahay Initiative

Forty-eight USM tricycle drivers who returned items left by passengers in their tricycle units received tokens, certificates, and cash incentives during the Tapat na USM Tricycle Drivers awarding ceremony on September 29, 2026, at the College of Business Development, Economics and Management (CBDEM) Grounds, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The drivers were recognized for their honesty and integrity in returning lost items to their owners.
Meanwhile, organizers placed Katapatan Seals on the tricycle units of drivers who operate inside the campus as a symbol of their honesty.
In an interview, Hasim A. Pedtamanan, one of the awardees, expressed gratitude for the recognition. He shared that the officers and members of their association meet monthly to discuss matters that benefit both the drivers and their passengers, especially students.
He also reminded his fellow USM tricycle drivers to continue serving the university community with discipline.
“Sa lahat ng mga kasama kong driver, ‘wag tayong magpasaway dahil para ito sa atin… Ito rin ang ating kabuhayan kailangan lahat tayo’ng mga driver ay may disiplina,” he noted.
In his message, USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel emphasized the importance of tricycle drivers in the university community, noting that their service helps USM students and other members of the community.
The recognition highlighted the drivers’ commitment to providing honest service to passengers within the university.
The Tapat na USM Tricycle Drivers recognition program began in 2024.
