The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) conducted its Mid-Year Performance Review on August 10 to 11, 2026, at the University Commercial Building, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.

The  review covered 47 Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) documents, providing the University a basis to check the accomplishments of its offices during the first half of the year, review progress against set targets, and identify areas that need improvement.

Through the review, the University also examined the progress of its offices and discussed consolidated comments on the presented OPCRs. The discussions provided an opportunity for offices to look into concerns in their performance and determine areas that need to be addressed in the succeeding months.

USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel encouraged the offices to revisit the University’s statement and policies and assess whether the targets set for the year are being achieved. “Na-achieve na ba natin lahat ’yon?” Pres. Pimentel asked.

He also urged the offices to sustain the accomplishments already achieved and address areas that still need improvement. “Let us sustain what we have achieved and address what needs improvement,” he said. The University President also thanked the employees for their service and efforts in carrying out the responsibilities of their respective offices, particularly the Financial Management Services for their work in supporting the University’s operations.

The Performance Management Team (PMT) remained open to suggestions raised during the review as part of the continuing improvement of the University’s performance.

During the closing program, Faculty Regent Engr. Willie Jones Saliling recognized the efforts of the employees and noted the positive growth observed in the University’s performance. “There is a positive growth. We appreciate the effort of everyone. Unti-unti na nating na-align ang individual targets to the office targets,” Engr. Saliling said.

Further, Engr. Renel Alucilja noted that the review was conducted smoothly and expressed hope that the concerns identified during the activity would be addressed in the coming year. “I hope by 2027 we could resolve the problems that we’ve encountered now,” Engr Alucilja mentioned.

Let us sustain what we have achieved and address what needs improvement,” aniya.

There is a positive growth. We appreciate the effort of everyone. Unti-unti na nating na-align ang individual targets to the office targets,” ani Saliling.

I hope by 2027 we could resolve the problems that we’ve encountered now,” ani Alucilja.
