Chinese Company to Open Doors for USM Students and Graduates

Students and graduates of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) may soon have access to international internship, training, and career opportunities as Muyuan Foods Co., Ltd. of China expressed its interest in forging a partnership with the University.

During a courtesy visit, representatives of the company met with USM officials to discuss a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that could pave the way for student internships, professional development programs, industry immersion, and possible employment opportunities. USM is also the first university in the Philippines visited by the company as it explores academic partnerships in the country.

The discussion focused on academic programs that align with the company’s operations in the livestock industry, particularly Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, and other related fields. University officials also explored how the proposed collaboration could benefit students through industry exposure, practical learning experiences, and stronger links with the international agri-food sector.

Both parties emphasized that any future partnership will undergo the University’s established processes and will comply with the policies and guidelines of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) before any program is implemented.

If realized, the collaboration is expected to expand learning opportunities for USM students while strengthening the University’s connection with global industry partners and supporting graduates’ career readiness.

Chinese Company Magbubukas ng Oportunidad para sa mga Estudyante at Alumni ng USM

Posibleng magkaroon ng access sa international internship, training, at career opportunities ang mga estudyante at alumni ng University of Southern Mindanao (USM) matapos ipahayag ng Muyuan Foods Co., Ltd. ng China ang interes nitong makipag-ugnayan sa Pamantasan para sa isang posibleng partnership.

Sa courtesy visit ng mga kinatawan ng kumpanya, tinalakay nila kasama ang mga opisyal ng USM ang panukalang Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) na maaaring magbukas ng mga oportunidad para sa student internship, professional development programs, industry immersion, at posibleng employment sa kumpanya. Ang USM din ang kauna-unahang unibersidad sa Pilipinas na binisita ng kumpanya habang sinasaliksik nito ang mga posibleng academic partnership sa bansa.

Tinalakay din sa pagpupulong ang mga academic program na may kaugnayan sa operasyon ng kumpanya sa livestock industry, partikular ang Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Agribusiness, Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, at iba pang kaugnay na larangan. Sinuri rin ng mga opisyal ng Unibersidad kung paano makatutulong ang naturang partnership sa mga estudyante sa pamamagitan ng exposure sa industriya, aktuwal na karanasan sa trabaho, at mas malawak na ugnayan sa international agri-food sector.

Binigyang-diin naman ng dalawang panig na daraan muna sa mga itinakdang proseso ng Unibersidad ang anumang magiging partnership at kinakailangang sumunod sa mga polisiya at alituntunin ng Commission on Higher Education (CHED) bago ipatupad ang anumang programa.
