Following the Level IV reaccreditation of five academic programs, another five programs of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) underwent a first survey visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., on October 26, 2026, via Zoom.
The programs under evaluation are the Bachelor of Science in Public Administration, Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting, Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education, and Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.

Dr. Ruben E. Borja II, a professor at Bulacan State University, served as the overall coordinator, with AACCUP accreditors joining the evaluation online. USM’s local counterparts gathered at the University Commercial Building to support the conduct of the survey visit.
In his message, USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel thanked AACCUP for its continued partnership in improving the quality of higher education. He said accreditation gives the University an opportunity to assess its accomplishments and identify areas that need further improvement.
The survey visit runs from October 26 to 30, 2026 spearheaded by the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO).
