General Marc Manero Bangoy, a high school student from the University of Southern Mindanao-University Laboratory School (USM-ULS) brought home a total of 4 national medals—2 gold medals and 2 silver during the 2025 Palarong Pambansa on May 24 to June 2, 2025, at Laoag City, Philippines.
Bangoy won gold in both 30-meter individual archery and team archery competitions, while securing silver out of 56 competing secondary-level archers nationwide in 70-meter distance and the renowned 1440 Round.
Prior to his victory in the 2025 Palarong Pambansa, Bangoy already made significant record in the Soccsksargen Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Meet 2025 where he bagged 1 gold and 6 bronze medals earning him the opportunity to proceed in the national level.
In a courtesy visit to USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel on June 13, 2025, Bangoy, along with his coach Maybell Martin and Principal Professor Marlon Salvador, presented medals as a form of showing their gratitude to the president for supporting ULS’ endeavors in pursuing excellence in different fields.



Started archery at the age of 9, Bangoy, now 16, set the record as the first ULS student-athlete to earn two gold medals and another two silver medals in a single edition in National games, and the sole delegate from the municipality of Kabacan who qualify for this year’s Palarong Pambansa.
Also, several student-athletes from USM-ULS who competed in SRAA meet 2025 were present during the visit.
