The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) took a step to explore possibilities to host International Peace Conference 2025 through opening its doors to Fr. Noel Ponsaran, PhD, President of Philippine Society for Peace and Development (PSPD) Inc. and Misheal Argonza, PhD, Vice-President of Philippine Society for Peace and Development (PSPD) Inc. on August 7, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM Administration Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.
Erwin A. Mallo, PhD, Chairperson of the Department of Social Science and Philosophy (DSSP) and Marlyn A. Resurreccion, PHD, Dean of College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) accompanied the visitors from PSPD Inc.
Discussed in the meeting was the date for the international activity. It will be conducted in line with the celebration of Mindanao Week of Peace in partnership with PSPD Inc. and the USM-DSSP. An international guest is set to grace the event.
Parallel to one of the nation’s goals—obtaining peace, Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President navigated the nature of the event to accordingly allocate USM’s counterpart as a form of support and commitment.
USM, once again, is setting bars—to lead the initiative of promoting and providing an avenue to exchange dialogues of peace in all its forms fulfilling its social responsibility to promote harmony in communities.
