The University of Southern Mindanao held its annual In-House Review for student research on May 30, 2025, at the University Commercial Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.
A total of 28 oral presentations, 22 poster submissions, and 11 pitch decks were presented that covered topics in science, social science, and innovation. This year, the event also introduced a pitching category that provided the students a chance to present their ideas in a more dynamic and engaging way.
Meanwhile, Professor Emeritus Dr. Naomi G. Tangonan, Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, and Engr. Renel M. Alucilja evaluated entries under the Science category. For Social Science, the panel included Dr. Lorna G. Valdez (Retired Professor), Prof. Rowell Nitafan, and Prof. Khristine Joy G. Arellano. Additionally, Dr. Ivy Mar B. Cabornida, Dr. Joel V. Misanes, and Dr. Marilyn P. Calub comprised the Innovation panel, while Dr. Josephine R. Migalbin, Dr. Maricel G. Dayaday, and Dr. Cheryl Y. Dulay assessed entries in the Food and Non-Food segments of the Product/Technology Pitching. The panelists provided constructive feedback and expert insights to help participants enhance their work.
An exhibit was also held that displayed innovations and services from different partners of the university. In support of the event, the Provincial Government sent its official representative to attend and witness the presentations.
In her message, Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, highlighted the university’s direction for RDE.
“We aim not just to be a research university but also an entrepreneurial university, where ideas can grow into solutions that impact our communities.” She expressed.
