As an initiative to improve its services, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), through the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, held a training on the Modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (mPhilGEPS) eBidding Facility for Government Agencies on February 26, 2026 at the University Commercial Building in USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
The training gathered members of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) for Goods and Services and Infrastructure, Technical Working Group members, BAC Secretariat, procurement staff, and canvassers from both the Main Campus and the Kidapawan City Campus.
Princess Sabio, and Mark Jonnel Lantin from Procurement Service (PS) under the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) served as resource speakers. They explained the updated features of the eBidding system and walked the participants through the step-by-step process, including the technical requirements. The speakers discussed compliance requirements and shared practical tips to help make procurement at the university more efficient and transparent.
The training aimed to help participants better understand and use the mPhilGEPS eBidding system, in line with the New Government Procurement Act and its implementing rules. University officials said they hope the training will lead to smoother procurement transactions and better services across USM’s campuses.
