The University of Southern Mindanao (USM), through Dr. Jurhamid C. Imlan, Director of the USM Agricultural Research and Development Center (USMARDC), signed a cooperation agreement with the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB) during the IRRDB Annual Committee of Directors’ Meeting at the Malaysian Rubber Board on December 4, 2025. The agreement for IRRDB was signed by Secretary-General, Dato’ Seri Dr. Abdul Aziz S.A. Kadir.
Covering joint research, student attachments, participation in and organization of international conferences, and other emerging opportunities for collaboration, the agreement aims to strengthen research, education, and innovation in support of the global natural rubber industry. Witnessing the event were delegates from IRRDB’s 20 member countries.
Established in 1960 as a worldwide group that brings together research institutes to help natural rubber producers, encourage cooperation, and protect the importance of natural rubber around the globe, the IRRDB provides the platform through which this new partnership with USM will advance shared goals for sustainable industry growth.
