Prof. Bryan Lloyd P. Bretaña, the Director of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) welcomed the delegation from Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) for a benchmarking activity on internationalization on July 30, 2025 at the University Skyroom, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
He presented the USM’s key initiatives on internationalization, outlining the university’s strategic approach to improve its standing in the global impact rankings and visibility. He emphasized the role of the OIA in fostering international collaborations and showcased the office’s accomplishments over the years.
He also highlighted the USM GreenBridge, a dedicated section of the university’s website that features activities, articles, and news aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As the President of the Council of International Relations Officers (CIRO) in Region XII, Prof. Bretaña consistently conducts mentorship to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and private higher education institutions, to offer strategic guidance on internationalization initiatives and to help them advance toward global university rankings.
The SKSU delegation expressed their appreciation to USM OIA for accepting the request on mentoring them on internationalization. Dr. Marites B. Java, the Vice President for Academic Affairs of SKSU, headed the delegation that included directors and focal persons from SKSU’s Legal Office, Quality Assurance, Instruction, and International Affairs.
