The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) recognized the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) for its outstanding performance in implementing the Gender and Development (GAD) Budget Policy during an awarding ceremony held on September 25, 2025, in Metro Manila.
USM ranked fourth among state universities and colleges in two categories: SUC with Highest Attributed GAD Allocation and SUC with Highest Total GAD Budget Allocation. This shows the continued commitment of the institution in promoting gender equality, and women empowerment through effective governance and inclusive development initiatives.
Dr. Jay-R Vildac, Director of Finance and Management Services, received the recognition on behalf of USM.
The PCW commended USM for its consistent allocation and utilization of GAD funds, citing its best practices in advancing gender equality and inclusive governance.
