The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) received the Academe Partner for Cooperative Capacity Building Award from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) on October 22, 2025, during the Parangal 2025 held at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City.

Dr. Leorence Tandog, USM’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Cheryl Dulay, Dean of the College of Business, Development Economics, and Management, accepted the award on behalf of the university.

The CDA and the nation celebrate this year’s Cooperative Month with the theme, “Cooperatives: United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World.”

Parangal 2025 honors cooperatives and partners across Region XII that demonstrate outstanding performance and service to their members and communities. The event also served as a venue to thank valued partners—Cooperative Development Officers (CDOs), Cooperative Development Councils, and the academe—for their continuous support in nurturing an environment that fosters cooperative growth and development.

With this award, USM remains strongly committed to promoting cooperative education, capacity building, and community development with CDA.
