The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) received a Plaque of Recognition after ranking 4th among the Top Performing Schools in the November 2025 Agriculturist Licensure Examination (ALE) under Category B (schools with 40 to 99 examinees).

This recognition was conferred during the Oathtaking of New Agriculturists held on December 19, 2025, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), CCP Complex, Pasay City, marking a formal acknowledgment of the university’s strong performance in the national licensure examination.

The distinction stemmed from the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on December 2, 2025, which showed that USM produced 88 passers, posting an overall passing rate of 90.72 percent. Notably, first-time takers recorded a 95.89 percent passing rate, while retakers achieved 75 percent, reflecting the university’s sustained quality in agricultural education.

During the ceremony, the Plaque of Recognition was received on behalf of the university by USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Efren E. Magulama, and Dr. Joan P. Sadoral.

Adding significance to the event, Dr. Edward A. Barlaan, Professor Emeritus of USM and 2023 Outstanding Professional Agriculturist, served as the Guest Speaker, delivering a message that underscored professionalism, responsibility, and the crucial role of agriculturists in advancing national food security and development.
