Herlyn Grace A. Menaje and Patrick C. Suarez, graduates of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry of the University of Southern Mindanao, passed both the October 2021 Chemist Licensure Examination and Chemical Technician Licensure Examination. Suarez landed on the 9th place in the latter exam with a rating of 87.50%.

Those who failed to pass the board examination for chemist but had obtained a rating of at least 70% in any two subjects are considered Chemical Technicians.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that 134 out of 369 passed the Chemist Licensure Examination and 1,074 out of 1,322 passed the Chemical Technician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Chemistry in Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, San Fernando, Tacloban, and Zamboanga. The results were released in four working days after the last day of examination.

USM’s passing rate in the Chemical Technician Licensure Examination is 91.67%, much higher than the national passing rate of 81.21%. In Chemist Licensure Exam, USM registered a passing rate of 33.33% while the national passing rate is 36.31%.
