The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) recorded 31 passers in the Certification Examination for Registered Microbiologists (RMicro), based on results released following the test held on January 17–18, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center in Taguig, Metro Manila.

The examination drew hundreds of examinees from across the country. Nationwide, 333 out of 813 examinees successfully passed, translating to a 40.95% passing rate. While USM achieved 72.09%, higher than the national passing rate.

The Registered Microbiologist (RMicro) certification is administered by the Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. (PAM). It is granted to individuals who pass the certification exam, which covers core areas such as basic microbiology, microbial physiology, ecology, virology, and a chosen elective field.
