Prof. Louie Bjan B. Arellano, a faculty member from the Physics Department of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), is currently engaged in a research project regarding material science in Spain. The project, which began on March 1, 2025, will run through May 30, 2025.

Funded by the Institute of Ceramics and Glass Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (ICV-CSIS) of Spain, Prof. Arellano is the only Filipino candidate selected to participate in this Spain-Philippine Collaboration Project.

Prof. Arellano’s expertise in solid-state materials led to the recommendation of Dr. Ryan Corpuz, a renowned Nano scientist and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Fellow, specializing in nanotechnology and advanced materials.

This collaboration research project on solid state materials is a joint project of Dr. Carolina Rosero of ICV-CSIS (Spain) and Dr. Corpuz of DOST and Nanolabs (Philippines). Prof. Arellano was featured in the Linkedin page and X account of ICV.
