SOCCSKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) with the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) as its base agency and member, participated in the first-ever PCAARRD Regional Consortia Summit on October 8 to 10, 2025, at the Kingsford Hotel, Parañaque, Metro Manila.

USM Professors namely Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, the Consortium Director, Dr. Tamie C. Solpot, Regional Research and Development Cluster Coordinator, along with staff to wit, John Leonard H. Latido, PTA VI, and Kristian Jay B. Sacare, PAA III represented SOXAARRDEC and USM in the summit. Also, Dr. Gina D. Balleras, Regional Technology Transfer Cluster Coordinator, and a personnel from PhilRice Midsayap Experimental Station joined the activity. 

The summit aimed to provide a platform for sharing best practices, enhancing collaboration, and developing strategic solutions among the Regional Consortia to effectively address challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector.

DOST-PCAARRD-Office of Executive Director for Administration, Resource Management and Support Services (ARMSS) spearheaded the activity in collaboration with the Cagayan Valley Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (CVAARRD) Consortium.

SOXAARRDEC is composed of 24 active consortium member institutions (CMIs) from the national and regional agencies and institutions in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region promoting research and development in agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources.
