The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) attended in the Presidents’ Summit 2025 of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on August 14 and 15, 2025 at Century Park Hotel, Manila.
President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, along Dr. Philip Benjamin, Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, and Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente, Director of University Quality Assurance Office, and a member of the AACCUP Board of Trustees, joined the summit.
With the theme, “Quality Assurance and Accreditation: New Framework, New Directions,” the summit gathered leaders of state universities and colleges nationwide to discuss reforms in accreditation and quality assurance. Sessions focused on the new AACCUP framework and instruments, teacher education standards, and strategies for aligning institutional practices with national and international benchmarks.
Dr. Dollente represented USM as an AACCUP trustee, highlighting the university’s role in shaping policies that strengthen accreditation across higher education institutions.
USM officials attended the event to demonstrate the university’s commitment to enhancing its quality assurance systems and preparing its programs to meet emerging trends in higher education governance and competitiveness.
