BREAKING NEWS: USM Achieves 65.43% in NDLE 2025

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) conducted a free orthopedic consultation activity for elderly individuals and athletes on November 11, 2025, at the University Extension Services Office Function Room. A total of 42 patients received medical consultations, prescriptions, and detailed explanations regarding their conditions.
The initiative was spearheaded by Dr. Jorasid C. Imlan, Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Arthroscopy specialist, in collaboration with Dr. Alex Lim, Orthopaedic Surgeon, and Mr. Nestor Bugtong, nurse and physical therapist.
In an interview, Jessie Elarde, a USM employee, expressed his commendation to the medical work as it was a big help for employees like him.
“I appreciate the dedication of the group of Dr. Asid Imlan and of course to each and every one who initiated the medical mission. And, to Dr. Jurhamid Imlan who inform us about this mission. Thank you,” Elarde spoke.
In addition, Ms. Shirly Rentuaya, a USM employee, expressed her gratitude for the free consultation. She shared that Dr. Imlan thoroughly explained her child’s condition, the recommended procedures, and the possible outcomes. She also appreciated how Dr. Imlan patiently answered all their questions and provided clear guidance throughout the consultation.
According to Dr. Jorasid Imlan, USM has played a significant role in his life, and this initiative serves as his way of giving back to the community. He explained that the program aims to provide consultation for patients experiencing hip and knee pain, as well as to identify individuals who may require surgical intervention.
Dr. Jorasid C. Imlan is the brother of Dr. Jurhamid C. Imlan, Director of the USM Agricultural Research Development Center (USMARDC), and one of the sons of the late Dr. Jaman S. Imlan, the third President of USM.
