USM-MIT Alumni Batch 1977 Davao Chapter Reconnects with University Leadership

Representatives of the University of Southern Mindanao-Mindanao Institute of Technology (USM-MIT) Alumni Batch 1977 Davao Chapter paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the President on June 1, 2026, at the University of Southern Mindanao in Kabacan, Cotabato.

The visit served as an opportunity to reconnect with the university leadership and discuss recent developments, ongoing programs, and the direction of the institution in the years ahead. Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, University President, shared updates on key initiatives and improvements aimed at strengthening academic programs, research, extension services, and student support.

During the meeting, the alumni also highlighted the important role of graduates in supporting the university’s growth and development. Among the topics discussed were scholarship programs and other forms of assistance provided by alumni groups to help students achieve their educational goals. The discussion underscored the continuing partnership between the university and its alumni in advancing opportunities for future generations of USM students.

The members of the Davao Chapter likewise expressed their openness to future engagements and collaborative efforts that could further contribute to the university’s mission and development. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote student welfare, academic excellence, and institutional progress.
