CIDG Meets USM President for a Visit

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) and the Mt. Apo Natural Park – Protected Area Management Office (MANP-PAMO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) discussed possible areas of collaboration for the Pipeline Project on Restoration through Science-Based Execution and Established Biodiverse Registry for Degraded Ecosystems in Protected Areas and Broader Landscapes in the Philippines (RESEEDPH) during a courtesy visit to the USM Office of the President on September 2, 2026.
The discussion centered on potential collaborative efforts in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and other initiatives supporting the protection and sustainable management of protected areas and surrounding landscapes.
As an institution actively involved in environmental and biodiversity-related initiatives, USM welcomed the opportunity to work with MANP-PAMO and DENR in exploring science-based approaches and possible areas where the University’s expertise, faculty, and resources can contribute to the RESEEDPH Project.
USM faculty members were also present during the visit, joining the discussion on potential partnerships and areas of cooperation.
The meeting further opened opportunities for USM and its partners to work together in advancing research and community-based efforts that support the conservation and restoration of biodiversity.
