The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) received laboratory equipment from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on September 15, 2026.
The equipment will help improve the laboratory facilities of the USM Kidapawan City Campus (KCC) and support its Mechanical Engineering program. It will also give students more opportunities for hands-on learning and practical training.
USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel formally received the donated equipment together with Vice President for Administration and Finance Ms. Quenielyn L. Durendes and faculty members from USM-KCC.
USM-KCC Chancellor Dr. Ronielyn F. Pinsoy expressed appreciation to CHED for the support, noting that the equipment will help enhance the learning experiences of students and faculty.
“These resources will open greater opportunities for hands-on learning, experimentation, and the practical application of engineering knowledge,” Dr. Pinsoy said.
She also thanked CHED and the Higher Education Development Fund Support (HEDFS) for ensuring that the government-funded resources are properly inspected, tagged, documented, and accounted for.
“As an institution entrusted with these resources, USM-KCC commits to their responsible stewardship, proper utilization, and sustainability,” Dr. Pinsoy said.
The new equipment will enhance classroom and laboratory instruction, help strengthen students’ practical skills, and support the continued improvement of the Mechanical Engineering program at USM-KCC.
