Through funding from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the first FabLab of the SOCCSKSARGEN region was built in the University of Southern Mindanao Kidapawan City Campus (USM KCC). In a FabLab, designs and ideas can be immediately transformed to solid prototypes through digital fabrication. The USM-KCC FabLab aims to support community partners, students, and small and medium enterprises by providing them the means to solidify their ideas in as short a time as possible. The FabLab is also a venue for mentoring students and entrepreneurs on the use of innovative machines for product development.

The USM-KCC houses the following equipment:

– Computer Numerical Control (CNC) milling machine
– Heat press and mug heat press
– Xena 3D printer
– Megatron 3D printer
– Optimus 3D printer
– Commercial large format color digital printer
– Vinyl cutter machine
– Arduino starter kit, activity robot kit, DC power supply
– Embroidery machine
