Kabacan, Cotabato – Building on the success of its inaugural year, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Kabacan officially launched Phase 2 of the Capacity Building, Demonstration, and Enterprise Development of Maguindanaon Delicacies (CBDEM-Delicacies) extension project, on May 22, 2025, at the Office of the Mayor, Kabacan, Cotabato.
This continuation builds upon the successful first year of the initiative, which primarily benefits the Kabacan Moro Women’s Organization, Inc. in Barangay Cuyapon, Kabacan.
Phase 1 of the CBDEM-Delicacies project laid the groundwork by focusing on capacity building, developing and distributing information and education materials, conducting practical demonstrations, and initiating enterprise development efforts among the women.
Phase 2 is designed to further empower these women entrepreneurs through comprehensive training in critical business areas. This includes instruction on Halal and Haram Foundation, enhancing entrepreneurial skills, improving organization management, developing effective marketing strategies, ensuring standardized product production, and refining financial record-keeping.
This ongoing collaboration underscores a dedicated commitment to supporting local businesses and preserving the rich culinary heritage of Maguindanao, thereby significantly contributing to the economic empowerment and development of the community.
