The University of Southern Mindanao – Philippine Society of Information Technology Students (PSITS) held PanauhAI 2026: Game On and All Night on February 20–21 at the University Laboratory School (ULS) Convention Hall, gathering 388 participants on the first day and 250 on the second despite heavy rains.

The two-day event strengthened students’ digital skills and leadership through programming contests in C++, Python, and Java, as well as a Capture the Flag cybersecurity challenge held at the Kundo E. Pahm Learning Resource Center. A Mini Hackathon at the ICT Building also challenged teams to develop and pitch innovative solutions.

Esports competitions in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2 added excitement and promoted teamwork and strategy.

PanauhAI 2026 gave IT students hands-on experience beyond the classroom while encouraging collaboration, creativity, and resilience.

Prof. Ryan Z. Gonzaga, PSITS Adviser, delivered a message encouraging the students to aim higher in their careers. He encouraged them to see themselves not only as future employees but as leaders and innovators in the technology sector.

“I see all these students in the future not just as employees. That has always been my goal here in PSITS. Our goal here in PSITS is [that] we become CEOs,” Prof. Gonzaga underscored.

The event also featured a Fastest Typing Competition that tested participants’ speed and accuracy, along with other activities that strengthened camaraderie among students.

PanauhAI 2026 was supported by R&J Retro Booth, the University Information and Communication Technology Office (UICTO), and the Department of Computing and Library Information Science (DCLIS) of USM.
