USM Faculty, Students’ Published Paper in High-Impact Scientific Journal Earns National Media Recognition

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) welcomed visiting athletes from nearby Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) as it held invitational games on September 26, 2025, in line with its founding anniversary celebration.
Teams from the Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST), Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), and South Cotabato State College (SCSC) joined the event. Participants competed in basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and lawn tennis held at various venues inside the USM, Kabacan, Cotabato.
In his message, Dr. Samsudin A. Panday, USM Vice President for Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services (VPRGES), said that sports events strengthen friendship and promote healthy competition among schools.
“Through sports, we learn discipline, respect, and teamwork, values that extend beyond the court,” the VPRGES said.
The invitational games were part of the week-long activities of USM’s founding anniversary, which gathered students, faculty members, and guests in a celebration of unity and camaraderie.
