As part of the celebration for its founding anniversary, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) honored its former employees during the USM Retirees’ Day held on September 29, 2025, at Café Martina, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato. The event gathered retired faculty and staff who once served the institution with dedication and loyalty.
USM President Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel expressed his gratitude to the retirees, reminiscing about the years he worked with many of them and recognizing their contributions to the growth of the university. He also shared updates on USM’s recent achievements, including academic innovations, infrastructure developments, and strengthened linkages that continue to move the university forward.
Meanwhile, Engr. Willie Jones B. Saliling, President of the USM Faculty Association, also thanked the retirees for their years of service. He said that their dedication continue to inspire the university’s current workforce to uphold the same values of commitment and excellence.
The retirees enjoyed a relaxed and joyful atmosphere at Café Martina, with a photo booth, music, and fellowship activities that brought laughter and fond memories. The gathering served as a reunion for many who once shared years of service and friendship within the university.
Through the Retirees’ Day celebration, USM reaffirmed its gratitude to the people whose loyalty and service helped build the university’s enduring legacy.
