Professors Jomar B. Esto, PhD and Ruben L. Tagare, PhD, faculty members of the Institute of Sports Physical Education and Recreation (ISPEAR) of USM participated in the 2025 Foreign Scholarships & Training Program (FSTP) and Erasmus+ Caravan-Mindanao Leg on behalf of Professor Bryan Lloyd P. Bretaña, Director of Office of International Affairs, on June 11 to 12, 2025 at the Park Inn by Radisson Davao, Davao City.

The activity, organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHEDRO XI), aimed at extending awareness on opportunities in studying abroad under various scholarship programs offered by a wide selection of providers abroad and amplify annual call for applications by interested Filipino students and institutions.

Moreover, these opportunities have consistently provided valuable scholarship opportunities. Currently, the program has produced exceptional scholars upon returning to the Philippines and have made meaningful contributions to their institutions and fields of expertise.

The Foreign Scholarships and Training Program (FSTP), funded through Official Development Assistance (ODA), and Erasmus+ by the European Union for Education, Training, Youth and Sport, stands as CHED’s flagship initiatives implemented in partnership with international partners.

Through this event, USM continues to expand its access to opportunities in developing its academic pursuit.
