USM Receives ASEAN ICONS Award for the Third Time

USM Hosts Three Signing Ceremonies During RAISE SOCCSKSARGEN Innovation, Partnerships, & Agripreneurship Pitch Fest 2025

The University of Southern Mindanao (USM) held its Faculty and Staff Meet 2025 on December 10 at USM, Kabacan, Cotabato, starting the day with an energetic Zumba session that prepared participants for friendly competitions. The one-day event featured Disc Golf, Badminton, Pickleball, Word Factory, Basketball, Volleyball, and Table Tennis.
USM Employees were grouped into five units: Unit 1 (Research, Development and Extension and Resource Generation and Entrepreneurial Services), Unit 2 (Admin, Security, and Support Services), Unit 3 (College of Arts and Social Sciences and College of Science and Mathematics), Unit 4 (College of Education, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Human Kinetics, College of Business, Development Economics and Management, University Laboratory School, College of Human Ecology and Food Sciences), and Unit 5 (USM PALMA, College of Engineering and Information Technology, College of Trades and Industries, College of Health Sciences, College of Agriculture, and Institute of Middle East and Asian Studies).
In Disc Golf, Unit 2 took first place, followed by Unit 5, Unit 1, and Unit 4. Unit 2 also led the Badminton event, with Unit 5 in second and Unit 3 in third. The Pickleball TeamEvent saw Unit 4 emerge as champion, Unit 2 in second, and Units 1 and 3 tying for third. In Word Factory, Unit 4 ranked first, ahead of Unit 5.
Basketball action was divided into 39 Below and 40 Up categories. In the 39 Below division, Unit 1 was champion, Unit 2 first runner-up, and Units 3 and 5 tied for second runner-up. In the 40 Up division, Unit 1 again took the top spot, with Units 3 and 5 tying for first runner-up, and Unit 2 placing second runner-up.
In volleyball, Unit 5 won the men’s division, while Unit 1 led the women’s division. Table tennis gold went to Unit 4, followed by Unit 1 and Unit 3.
The event was organized and spearheaded by the USM Faculty Association, the USM Academic Support Staff Association, and the College of Human Kinetics.
