
USM Launches DOST STARBOOKS, Hosts Kapihan sa Aklatan

KABACAN, COTABATO — The University of Southern Mindanao- Extension Services Office (USM-ESO), under the leadership of Director Glyn B. Gabano-Magbanua, gathered the College Extension Coordinators (CECs) on January 12, 2026, at the ESO Conference Room to ensure the seamless implementation of extension programs for the year.
The session, attended by 10 CECs from various colleges, focused on streamlining administrative processes and enhancing project oversight. Central to the discussions were critical agenda items, including the submission of Quarterly Monitoring and Evaluation Reports (QMER), compliance of training documents for ISO Audit Certification, and planning for the upcoming USMARDC Anniversary.
A major highlight of the meeting was the announcement of USM’s recognition as a Volunteerism Hub for Region 12. Building on this, Director Magbanua challenged the CECs to intensify their volunteerism initiatives, integrating these efforts into the upcoming anniversary celebrations to further cement the university’s impact in the region.
“I am very proud to announce that our university has been recognized as a Regional Volunteerism Hub, a testament to the continued efforts of our colleges in their extension and outreach activities. Therefore, I encourage everyone to showcase your college’s unique products and services during the upcoming USMARDC Anniversary,” she noted.
The meeting concluded with a unified commitment to service excellence. By balancing administrative diligence with active volunteerism, USM-ESO and its coordinators are set to further strengthen the university’s impact on regional development throughout 2026.
