USM Joins PDGA Asia Tour for the First Time

Twenty-nine fourth-year students of the College of Education (CED) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), together with their instructors, begin their International Educational Tour at Muban Chombueng Rajabhat University (MCRU) in Ratchaburi, Thailand from February 23 to March 7, 2026.
The group includes five students from the Bachelor in Elementary Education (BEEd) program, four from the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, and 20 majoring in English. Joining them are CED faculty members Dr. Girlie D. Batapa, Dr. Lezel P. Pataray, Dr. Paul John B. Ongcoy, Prof. Jay G. Regulacion, and Prof. Merlyn A. Musali.
USM strengthens this academic engagement through its partnership with MCRU, formalized by a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in the last quarter of 2025. Through this collaboration, students observe actual classroom settings and explore how teaching is delivered in a different educational environment. The experience allows both students and faculty members to exchange traditions, ideas, and practices that promote cultural understanding and mutual respect.
Through this collaboration, USM and MCRU work together to develop innovative programs and enhance learning materials for their respective academic communities.
