Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) President, along with Dr. Jalaloden B. Marohom, the USM Intellectual Property, Technology Transfer, and Business Development Office (USM IPTTBDO) Director and staff, attended the 27th Regular Session of the 18th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cotabato held at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan Session Hall, Amas, Kidapawan City on February 10, 2026.

The USM team attended the session to represent the endorsement of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Provincial Government of Cotabato and USM through the USM IPTTBDO.

The partnership focuses on sharing and applying university research and technologies to local communities, industries, and other users. It aims to make research more useful, support local economic growth, promote new ideas, and strengthen the connection between the university, the government, and the community.

The MOA between the Provincial Government of Cotabato and the USM Technology Business Incubator was also endorsed. This agreement supports startups, helps with intellectual property, and provides training programs for entrepreneurs in the province, giving new innovators and businesses the guidance they need to grow.

These agreements show a shared commitment to boosting research, entrepreneurship, and community development in Cotabato through strong cooperation between the provincial government and the university.
