Kabacan, Cotabato – The University of Southern Mindanao Extension Services Office (USM-ESO) successfully aired Episode II of Ugnayan Natin Season VI on May 22, 2025, via DXVL KOOL FM 94.9 and online streams.
The one-hour, forum-style radio program featured Dr. Ian Jay D. Garampiel, a College of Medicine (COM) faculty member, who served as the resource person. Dr. Garampiel focused on the critical role of public health information and education in prevention regarding Mpox.
He underscored the need to empower the public with accurate knowledge regarding the virus’s nature, transmission, and essential precautionary measures.
“With proper public health information and education, we can prevent the spread of Mpox”,” Dr. Garampiel stated.
He also emphasized the importance of good hygiene, avoiding close contact with infected individuals, and prompt medical attention for symptoms.
