
USM Students Participate in PhilHealth’s Activity

March 26, 2025The SOCCKSARGEN Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development Consortium (SOXAARRDEC) reached eight (8) consortium member institutions and municipal/provincial local government units for the Ingat Hayop Roadshow: A Regional Campaign and Awareness Seminar for Avian Influenza and African Swine Fever from February 26, 2025 to March 12, 2025.
In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Industry XII (DA-BAI XII), SOXAARRDEC, through its Consortium Director, Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele, successfully launched the campaign in cooperation with the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian, Sarangani Province, and LGU Maitum; Cotabato Foundation College of Science and Technology (CFCST), Doroluman, Arakan, Cotabato; Mindanao State University-General Santos (MSU-GS); Sultan Kudarat State University, Bagumbayan (SKSU-Bagumbayan), Sultan Kudarat; South Cotabato State College (SCSC), Surallah, South Cotabato; University of Southern Mindanao (USM), Kabacan, Cotabato; Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, Kabacan, Cotabato; and the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, Midsayap, Cotabato.
This was made possible through the dedication and expertise of invited resource persons, Dr. Geraldson A. Navarra, DVM, Msc, Regional Veterinary Quarantine Officer, Bureau of Animal Industry Region XII, and Dr. Christian Benedict P. Magaway, Veterinarian III, Bureau of Animal Industry Region XII.
Hog and poultry raisers, researchers, students, and other stakeholders benefited from the activity, gaining knowledge and learning research-based practices regarding Avian Influenza and African Swine Fever.
This initiative is a part of the Research and Development Results Utilization and Capability-building banner programs for the Technology Transfer Cluster of the consortium.
