π—žπ—”π—•π—”π—–π—”π—‘, 𝗖𝗒𝗧𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗒- With the goal of effecting positive change in the lives of the people in the region, Dr. Josephine R. Migalbin, the SOXAARRDEC Director, together with the consortium staff, visited some of its beneficiaries of the “SOXAARRDEC Hito Fingerlings Distribution”, Project on May 20, 2022 at Barangay Dagupan, Kabacan, Cotabato to monitor the production activity by the beneficiaries in the area where fingerlings were distributed early this year.

The fisherfolks in the community reported a problem on fish kill that happened in the beginning. However, Mr. Erickson Tormo, one of the barangay councilors of Dagupan and a beneficiary of the program said that the fish kill was manageable. The fingerlings have grown into harvestable size and the beneficiaries are expected to produce income in the next days. Mr. Tormo thanked the consortium, through its director, for giving them the opportunity to generate income amid the continuing pandemic.

During the visit, one of the beneficiaries showed the live catfish from the pond by feeding them. In the next quarter, the consortium will monitor the rest of the recipients of the fingerlings.
