SINAG Energy Solutions of USMart TBI Joins DOST-PCIEERD’s FEC Special Cohort under the SPRINT Program at DLSU Laguna Campus

Laguna, Philippines SINAG Energy Solutions, a promising incubatee of the USMart Technology Business Incubator (TBI) of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), has successfully qualified for the Special Cohort of the Filipinnovation Entrepreneurship Corps (FEC) under the Short-term Program for Researchers on Innovation and Technopreneurship (SPRINT).

This highly competitive program is spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) in collaboration with De La Salle University’s Center for Business Research and Development (DLSU-CBRD). It aims to fast-track the transformation of research-based technologies into viable startups by providing comprehensive entrepreneurial training, mentorship, and opportunities for funding support.

The SPRINT Program was held from May 6 to 8, 2025, at the Enrique K. Razon Hall, DLSU Laguna Campus. This milestone marks an advancement for SINAG Energy Solutions as it intensifies efforts toward commercialization and scaling its technology for wider impact.

Representing SINAG Energy Solutions during the kickoff activities was its Project Leader, Dr. Marilyn Painagan-Calub, joined by Dr. Jalaloden B. Marohom, Director of the USM IPTTBDO and Project Leader of USMart TBI, along with Engr. John Lloyd B. Tamse, Project Technical Assistant for IT.

Over the course of the three-day bootcamp, participants took part in structured sessions covering entrepreneurial psychology, lean startup methodology, value proposition design, customer journey mapping, and intellectual property strategies. These modules are tailored to help researchers and technologists refine their innovations, validate their market relevance, and prepare for real-world business environments.

USMart TBI remains steadfast in its mission to incubate, mentor, and accelerate startup ventures born from academic research and innovation. By bridging the gap between laboratory research and market deployment, the TBI plays a crucial role in contributing to inclusive, sustainable, and technology-driven development in the region.
