Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, the USM President, officially signed the revised Constitution and Bylaws (CBL) presented and crafted by the University Student Government (USG) under the leadership of Kenny Lloyd F. Montelija on May 6, 2025, at the Office of the President, USM Administration Building, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Inside the amended CBL are provisions that are aligned to the current landscape of the University having several extension campuses and meeting the growing demand of the students. Some of the highlighted changes include the creation of Local Student Governments (LSGs) in USM external campuses in Antipas, Mlang, and Pigcawayan, provisions on student independence during campus elections, providing compensation to elected USG officers, setting the designated survivors, putting the inauguration of newly elected officers into a fix date set at twelve noon of June thirty every year, and the designation of the USG Vice President to sit and lead the legislative unit of the governing body.

The amendment of the CBL aims to organize new and improved provisions that are needed to guide the student leaders in the campus and to extend the necessary services.

As USG President Montelija prepares to conclude his term in office, he expressed his gratitude for the support of USM President Pimentel, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Office of Legal Services, Administrative Personnel, and students.
