Dr. Jonald L. Pimentel, USM President welcomed four commissioned officer candidates of Officer Candidate Course (OCC) and alumni of USM namely 2LT Kenjay T. Sasi, 2LT Reuben Ivan S. Nonesa, 2LT Jaysar Y. Copreros, and 2LT Renone P. De Juan Jr. at the Office of the President, USM Administration Building, Kabacan, Cotabato on July 01, 2025.
As a way of going back to their roots, the officer candidates, who were graduates of USM in 2023, shared how USM shaped their perspectives and skills to be prepared for the real world particularly in national defense.
During the visit, President Pimentel expressed his gratitude to the officer candidates for imposing and bringing the teachings of USM to themselves wherever they go. He also advised the candidates to continue achieving milestones by pursuing academic opportunities and further skills trainings to serve the army and the Filipino Citizens adequately.
The Officer Candidate Course is a demanding training program aimed at molding both civilian aspirants and enlisted personnel into disciplined, capable, and principled military officers. Upon graduation, candidates are expected to exemplify the institution’s guiding values, “Valor, Integrity, and Duty”, as they take on the responsibilities of military service.
