Kabacan, Cotabato—Students from Mindanao State University—General Santos City (MSU-GenSan) visited the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) on May 22, 2025, for an educational tour focused on research centers and agri-educational practices.

The visiting team was composed of forty-seven Bachelor of Agriculture major in Agronomy students, along with their Agronomy professor, Renaldy L. Tupas, MSc.   The students toured USM’s premier agricultural facilities, including High-Value Crops Processing Center, University of Southern Mindanao Agricultural, Research and Development Center (USMARDC), Philippine Rubber Testing Center (PRTC), Niche Center in the Regions (NICER) for cacao R&D, and Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) Rubber Project.

This immersive experience was designed to provide MSU-GenSan students with practical exposure to various research stations, state-of-the-art laboratories, and best practices in agricultural education.

The tour was facilitated by the Extension Services Office (ESO), Research Development Office (RDO), and College of Agriculture (CA), ensuring a productive and informative experience for the visitors.

This educational tour reaffirms USM’s ongoing commitment to fostering academic partnerships that advance agricultural education in the region.
