The University of Southern Mindanao held the Midyear In-house Review on July 18-19, 2022. During the activity, progress reports of 70 RDE projects were presented. There were three sessions–Basic Research, Applied Research, and Extension and Social Research.

The Vice President for RDE, Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, gave the welcome address, and RDO Director, Prof. Lydia C. Pascual presented the rationale. Dr. Francisco Gil N. Garcia delivered his message and emphasized the importance of implementing RDE projects that lead to utilization. Researchers and extensionists are challenged to implement projects that do not just end in terminal reports or publications. Instead, RDE projects must promote positive changes in communities and an upliftment of people’s lives.

All RDE project leaders were alloted time to present their accomplishments during the first half of the year. After which, they answered questions and listened to insights of the evaluators. The comments are expected to improve the implementation of the project for the next five months. The evaluators were Engr. Willie Jones B. Saliling, Dr. Edward A. Barlaan, and Dr. Julius Jerome G. Ele for Basic Research; Dr. Purificacion O. Cahatian, Dr. Ma. Teodora N. Cabasan, and Dr. Debbie Marie B. Verzosa for Applied Research; and Dr. Moveta P. Balala, Dr. Ardniel A. Baladjay, and Dr. Elizabeth C. Molina for Extension and Social Research.
