To ensure that the program meets national academic and industry standards, the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) hosted National Quality Assessment Team (NQAT) evaluation for the Master in Information Systems program on April 29, 2025 at the Graduate School Accreditation Room, USM, Kabacan, Cotabato. 

Prof. Malecio Cordero Jr., a faculty member of the Master in Information Systems presented the profile of the program for evaluation. The program is designed to prepare students to solve complex problems reengineer business operation for organizational efficiency through strategic application of information technology. 

During the evaluation, NQAT panel members Mr. Oliver A. Malabanan, Ma. Theresa Magdolot, and Ms. Remedios S. Talingdan had in-depth discussion with the MIS faculty members, Dr. Maricel Dayaday, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT), and Dr. Elmer M. Estilloso, Dean of the Graduate School, as they reviewed institutional documents to check if the program aligns with the national guidelines. The technical panel reviewed key areas such as curriculum improvements, faculty members’ retooling efforts of the graduate school programs.

Dr. Estilloso, emphasized the importance of quality assessment to ensure the relevance of the curriculum, effectiveness, alignment of the need of industry, professionals for continuous improvement of the program to produce graduates to become prepared leaders in the filled of information systems. 

As a result, they are prepared to endorse the issuance of the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for MIS. The evaluation was facilitated by the University Quality Assurance Office (UQAO) lead by its Director, Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente.
